Head of Fundraising and Supporter Relations: David Bennett

David Bennett

Since graduating from Queen Mary's (London) in 1974, David Bennett has spent most of his working life in the business world, ending up on the Board of a City corporate… at which point God intervened and after a brief spell heading up fundraising for the Methodist Church in Britain, he found himself working as head of fundraising and supporter relations for the Alliance in London.

David's home church is Soul Survivor Watford and he also sits on the Executive Committees of a number of other charities.


Head of Media: Charis Gibson

Charis Gibson

Charis Gibson has a degree in media studies from the University of Ulster and a postgraduate diploma in newspaper journalism from De Montfort University. She previously worked as a reporter on the Coleraine Chronicle, Basingstoke Gazette and Daily Echo, Bournemouth, with a variety of experience from crime reporting to campaigns and features.


Head of Public Affairs: Don Horrocks

Don Horrocks, Head of Public Affairs, Evangelical Alliance

Don Horrocks, Head of Public Affairs,spent 25 years in business in corporate banking and management consultancy. Completed a theological PhD at London Bible College in 2001 and headed up the Evangelical Alliance's Policy Commission for 3 years.

Don was appointed Head of Public Affairs for the Alliance in September 2001. He has edited books on transsexuality and GM crops and foods. A Research Fellow at London Bible College, Don is married with 3 children.


Head of Theology: Marijke Hoek

Marijke Hoek

Marijke Hoek has a Masters in Applied Theology and PhD from Regents Theological College, (University of Manchester) focussing on the topic of suffering and weakness and the role of the Spirit in these matters.

Her interest lies in exploring how Jeremiah's instruction to seek the wellbeing in society can further guide the church in its engagement to serve the common good and adopt a long-term vision for the shalom of society in which our destiny is woven together with that of the wider community.

Marijke co-edited the book Micah's Challenge. The Church's responsibility to the Global Poor (Paternoster, 2008).

She has developed degree courses to further develop the understanding of the rle of the Christian community in relation to the poor.

Marijke is a visiting lecturer at Regents Theological College
