We need Assistants to live in ordinary houses with up to a dozen others. You'll take an active part in house, Community and local life.

Welton Baptist Church - Children’s Worker

The Church

We are a growing evangelical church based in Midsomer Norton, near Bath. We have a large congregation of around 250 people from across the age-spectrum.
The church has a thriving ministry amongst families, teenagers and children and has an outward facing focus towards our local community.

The Role

The children's work has grown significantly over the past 5 years with over 100 children in the 0-14 years age range attending weekly church-based activities.

As a result of this large number of children the volunteer team involved in the Children's work numbers over 50 people. Coupled with policy requirements of Safe to Grow and increased legislation (i.e. CRB checks) there is now a need for the church to appoint a Children's Worker to enhance the effectiveness of our work with these youngsters by co-ordinating the church-based activities, managing the volunteer teams and overseeing the delivery of Sunday School teaching. The role is based at the Church Office. The successful candidate will join a small employed team, will have the ability to improve working methods and be an innovative and inspiring team leader.

The Individual

We are seeking a Committed Christian who can demonstrate excellent organisational skills, is able to manage large numbers of volunteers, can coordinate activities across the specified age-range and above all has a passion for sharing the Good News of Christ to children. Ideally with a teaching background or related experience you will be a team player with excellent communication skills to confidently lead this important part of the Church's activity. Reporting to the Leadership Team, the successful candidate will be expected to be highly self motivated and able to work under the pressures of organising and motivating a large team week by week together with the responsibility of providing high quality activities to a growing number of children.
