Reflections for Lent 2010: What does the Bible say about power?

The Methodist Relief and Development Fund (MRDF) and the Evangelical Alliance have collaborated to produce a series of inspirational reflections for Lent. The readings, based on MRDF's study resource, What does the Bible say about power, will help us to think about the power we have to impact the lives of others.

We apologise that we were not able to deliver these readings as videos as advertised - we're working on developing the technological capacity to produce videos for next year.

The sixth and final week of Lent, Holy Week, is here and this week's reading is called, "The powerful servant". It's based on John 13:1-7 and 1 Peter 4:1-11.

Interesting - but I wonder if Lent means much to the UK population today? As society changes, Christian festivals like this fade from popular memory. Easter isn't what it used to be....

...but at least we've still got Christmas!

Good luck to the Methodists!

What power do we have? that is a very good question and needs deep thinking after hearing this podcast. I know the power my signature has, the power of my words in encouragement and comfort but do I know the power of the gospel. Unfortunately I am silenced when challenged or when an oppertunity arises to share Jesus....why is it so difficult to understand the power of the gospel, if only I truly knew its power. To believe It is powerful in my life but to share with others it is not so easy. This has been thought provoking for me and on which I need to pray about. Thank you.
