Best of the Alliance: June 2017

June was an eventful month, with the general election and the tragedy at Grenfell Tower. We've rounded up our response to uncertain times and our hope to keep equipping the Church to know God and make Him known around our nations.

Grenfell Tower
After the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower we were able to share the story of Latymer Community Church, based at the foot of the tower, who were able to provide some immediate support for those affected by the tragedy. You can read the story of the week after the fire, and find out how the church is planning to continue supporting their community.

Election day prayer
Remember when there was an election? Friday 9 June was an uncertain day and lots of appreciated our call to prayer which we shared across our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

How can you change the world?
We were so excited this month to launch the Public Leadership Change the World course! Designed to help churches support public leaders in their congregation, this four week small group course is a great new resource for developing Christian leadership in the public square.

Tim Farron's resignation
Lots of you found Dave Landrum's article in response to Tim Farron's resignation helpful. The Liberal Democrat leader resigned due to find it impossible to be both a Christian and a political leader. Find out what Dave Landrum had to say.

FNT: stand up and be counted
Our most-read Friday Night Theology in June was 'Stand up and be counted', a call to Christians not to retreat from politics after the election, but to find new ways of getting involved. It's not just at elections that we can stand up and be counted...

#Lemonselfiechallenge
Who could forget our lemon selfie challenge in aid of Samaritan's Purse and their 'When life gives you lemons...' campaign? Some of the Alliance team got fully involved, as you can see...
