Psalm 2: Prayer reflection

Power is a strange beast.

Sometime we run after it and when we find it we don't know what to do with it.

I think that power is a mirage; we never ultimately have it. If I were to put on one side all the strength, might, wisdom and ambition of the world and compare it to you, it is nothing.

Gracious God, you alone are great and mighty, all real power belongs to you.Your power is complimented by your grace, love and wisdom.

Your love has made it possible for me to call you Father and be adopted into your family. If you were to say "Ask of Me" how would I respond? Where would I love to see your power at work today, both in my life and in the world?

Gracious God, forgive me for the times when I think I can rely upon my own resources. I need you. Your love humbles me. As your child, help me to rely upon you today.

Amen.
