Call for prayer for Christians in media

The Church and Media Network is inviting Christians to join the Day of prayer for the media on 8 May.

The day seeks to affirm the media's vital role in society and to pray for more of the story of Christ in the media.

More than 90 per cent of Christians working in and with the media said that having more prayer support would make a significant difference to their work.

Prayer is being encouraged for Christian and non-Christian media professionals, including print and radio journalists, film and TV producers, editors and writers, advertising and communications specialists, and for churches supporting and interacting with the media, and for Christian organisations supporting those connected with the media

The day of prayer will encourage churches and Christians across the UK to pray for more opportunities to celebrate Christian values such as love, hope, peace, equality and justice in the media; for enhanced respect and mutual understanding between Christian and non-Christian media professionals and for more effective discipleship of young Christians at the start of careers in or with the media.

Sign up for to the Church and Media Network thunderclap, which will automatically send a message on social media on 8 May announcing the day of prayer.

You can also post your prayers on a dedicated prayer wall and download the Instapray app, which will allow those working in and with the media to send their prayer requests and pray for others all year round.
