In, up and out: Festive celebrate 10 years of further education mission

Alliance member Festive are launching a new website to grow students in faith and equip them for mission.

The new website encourages faith that is "in, up and out" - relying on God and being a witness to Him in further education colleges and sixth forms.

Festive was launched in 2007 to bridge the gap between schools work and university mission.

Director of Festive, Pete Carrington, said: "We want to equip students to go out with the gospel. This has been and always will be our number one passion as an organisation.

"We believe the best people to reach students with the life changing message of the gospel are their Christian friends.

"We thank God for the opened doors, seeds sown and hearts boldened these last ten years and our prayer is that we see the hope of the good news spread across every college in the UK over the next 10!"

The new website is formed around three ideas: in, up and out. "In" will inspire students and give them a passion for Jesus and for sharing him with friends; "up" helps students develop a reliance on God through prayer; and "out" equips students to live out their faith through creative ideas and resources.

Festive hopes that more students and Christian Unions will be able to easily access the videos, Bible studies and advice through their mobile devices.

Festive are working to see a vibrant witness of Jesus in every sixth form and further education college in the UK. They are currently the only Christian organisation working specifically in the area of further education.

Festive was launched with the backing of UCCF and Scripture Union.

Tim Hastie, national director of Scripture Union, said: "Praise God for 10 years of faithful ministry by the Festive team. The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are very few in this vast field. What a work. What a vision."
