Join the National Prayer Weekend and help your community

Thousands of Christians are committing to pray for their communities during the National Prayer Weekend.

From 23 – 25 September Christians around the country will be praying for their villages, towns and cities.

Organised by CWR, the initiative is also supported by Hope, 24-7 Prayer, Neighbourhood Prayer Network, GATHER and the Evangelical Alliance.

Mick Brooks, chief executive of CWR, explains: "From the head teacher at our local schools, the staff at our local supermarkets to our next-door neighbours, we want everyone to discover the love of Jesus through the blessing of prayer.

"Churches, community groups and individuals from across the country are being invited to engage with their communities in prayer, asking for prayer requests from individuals, organisations and institutions in order to transform their lives through personalised prayer on this special weekend."

There are 124 postcode areas in the UK, and the National Prayer Weekend map now has pins in 115 of them.

Churches and prayer groups from Australia, North America, Nigeria and Singapore are also using the weekend to make their mark on their own local areas.

The National Prayer Weekend offers the opportunity to introduce people in your community to God – who loves them – through the power of prayer.

It provides a platform for anyone and everyone to gather prayer requests from neighbours, teachers and local supermarket cashiers to bus drivers, MPs and nurses.
