Micah Challenge

The Evangelical Alliance believes that the church has something to say to society about Biblical values, and that the church has a responsibility to join with those whose voice often goes unheard.

In 2005 the Evangelical Alliance has been supporting the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY campaign.

The Alliance is a founder member of Micah Challenge UK, which is part of a global campaign to hold national leaders accountable for the promises they made under the Millennium Development Goals to halve global poverty by 2015, and to enable Christians to have a deeper understanding of poverty issues and the part they can play to help reduce unnecessary suffering.

  • Micah Challenge UK seeks to educate, envision, encourage and engage the Christian constituency in the UK around the Millennium Development Goals and associated issues of poverty and marginalisation. We can make a difference individually and corporately, as well as nationally!
  • Micah Challenge UK is a coalition of churches and aid and development agencies started by the Evangelical Alliance and Tearfund in 2004. Other members include:
Shaftesbury Society, Salvation Army, World Vision UK, SPEAK Network, Global Connections, ACEA, BMS World Mission, International Nepal Fellowship and Christian Medical Fellowship.
