Richard Powney

I grew up in Essex, but now find myself living in north-west London. I have worked at the Alliance since January 2016. Before this I studied theology at London School of Theology, completing an undergraduate degree and a Masters in Theology.

I became a Christian when I was 22 years old and since then have been actively involved in helping Christians and churches provide space for people to explore the Christian faith. Before studying theology, I worked for Viz-A-Viz Ministries in Essex, working on projects that equipped Christians to share their story of how Jesus has changed their lives.

I work in the Unity for Mission team – it's great working alongside similar minded people trying to help unite the Church in the UK to join in with Jesus' mission. As evangelism resources co-ordinator my role involves working on the Great Commission project. I'm involved in gathering stories of people coming to faith in Jesus, researching good quality evangelism resources, tools and initiatives happening across the UK and generally working to equip and inspire Christians to relevantly share the difference faith in Jesus makes in their lives.
