Bringing hope in Scotland
December has seen the Evangelical Alliance Scotland advocacy team raising awareness of how God’s people are bringing hope across Scotland in the run up to Christmas. Many of our member churches and organisations are involved with foodbanks, offering debt advice, running winter night shelters and supporting those who are lonely and vulnerable at Christmas.
To highlight and celebrate this work, Jeremy Balfour MSP has submitted a motion recognising the Serve Scotland coalition, the many churches and organisations involved in providing these services and paying tribute to the thousands of volunteers who make this work happen. Around 15 MSPs have signed this motion so far. Please do contact your MSPs and ask them for their support.
In addition, this month sees the 10th anniversary of Street Pastors in Scotland. This wonderful initiative was celebrated by a Members’ business debate in the chamber and parliamentary reception on Tuesday and also has a motion signed by around 25 MSPs.
Please do also consider asking your MSPs to support this motion and highlight again how God’s people are bringing hope in Scotland this Christmas.
