The Evangelical Alliance's 160th Anniversary

"As Evangelicals we must keep our nerve and be confident and not see ourselves as a minority attempting to survive the 21st century."
Joel Edwards

160th Anniversary Cake, Evangelical Alliance 1846 - 2006

For over 160 years the Evangelical Alliance has been at the forefront of many key developments which have helped to shape the spiritual and social landscape of the UK. It has provided leadership in demonstrating that Evangelicalism is good news.

From the Billy Graham crusades and prayer campaigns during WW2, to establishing Tearfund and providing an intelligible voice to media and politics, the Evangelical Alliance has had the vision to birth initiatives which have played their part in transforming society.

Now representing a million evangelicals, a third of whom are Anglican, a third are Baptist, and another third made of other Protestant Christians, the Evangelical Alliance remains committed to promoting Christian unity, explaining evangelical truth, and securing religious liberty.
