“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14

In 2006 over 400 million Christians from around the world took part in a momentous, history-making Global Day of Prayer. People in 198 countries responded to the call to unite in repentance and prayer. Events varied in size and style - In Jordan 650 gathered in a school, whereas in Singapore over 30,000 met in a stadium. London's contribution included 1000 people from differenet ethnic and church backgrounds meeting together in Westminster Chapel.

In 2007 the plans for London's contribution to the Global Day of Prayer are even bigger. On Sunday May 27th 2007 (Pentecost Sunday) Churches across London will gather together in West Ham Stadium. The programme of events includes Noel Robinson, Graham Kendrick, Cathedral Choir, Muyiwa, Mark Beswick, Subhash Gill, Patti Boulaye, Tim Hughes, Geraldine Latty, Dave Bilbrough and the All Souls Orchestra.

Events are also planned for various locations throught the UK - see World Prayer Centre website for details (opens in a new window)

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” 2 Chronicles 7:14
