Young people to shine their light across the land

Manchester's award winning Christian charity, Message Trust is hoping to spread a little light in the charts with a song that celebrates the achievements of young talent.

The song will be released as part of the campaign called Shine your Light which coincides with the Government's Shine week, a week enabling young people across the UK to celebrate their talents by taking part in practical activities.

"There are no limits to what local churches and local youth groups can achieve, we have teamed up instead of staying behind in isolation" said Frank Green from the Message Trust.

Already, the single 'This little light' by Manchester Urban band LZ7 is the theme song of the project. In order to celebrate the achievement of all the young talents involved, Message Trust and record company Universal

Distribution intend to release the song in the UK mainstream music chart. Shine your Light celebrations run throughout  summer 2010, and the Trust is  launching Shine your Light along with other social networking sites events on the 12th April 2010.community action

The weekend of 23 -24 September will be the highpoint of the events.

The main site Shine Week showcases previous year's achievements of the campaign, from cleaning up graffiti, visiting the elderly, running radio stations to chairing debates in the House of Lords.

6,000 schools and youth clubs were involved last year. This year, there are possibly another 2 million young people scheduled to take part in other acts of kindness.
