Frontline

Frontline opened in Cowes, Isle of Wight, all our teams are Christian volunteers, all our services are free to our clients, last year on the Isle of Wight we saw a little over 800 people and at least a thousand in our other offices - always providing the same two services, free debt and benefit advice.
Typically our clients are about 94% "un-churched" and of about half come at the recommendation of care workers and the other half come on the recommendation of family or friends.
We try display the love of Jesus to all we assist. I would personally characterise our Christian outreach as "doing it" rather than "just talking about it!" We choose not to "preach" with words, but our clients frequently ask why we do the work and this gives us great opportunities to share our experience of love. We have also seen marriages healed, homes saved, financial disasters resolved and (occasionally) lives change for ever.
For the past ten years we have also started training others in the skills of debt and benefit advice, to date approximately 180 people have attended one of our "introduction to debt advice" courses. Some of the attendees have asked to join the Frontline family rather than start there own charities.
At present almost all our offices are in the central south of England, five new offices opened between September and December 2008, clearly showing that some Christians were getting prepared for the hard economic times and all of our offices have seen an increase in numbers seeking assistance.
The typical annual cost of running one of our branches is between £1,500 and £2,500 per year, and we offer training, support and supervision.
