Statements

Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari is the new General Secretary

05 June 2006

The Evangelical Alliance has today welcomed the appointment of Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari as the new General Secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain.

The General Director of the Evangelical Alliance, the Rev. Joel Edwards, and the Alliance’s Public Policy director, Dr. R. David Muir, had a number of meetings with Dr. Bari’s predecessor, Sir Iqbal Sacranie, about a number of key Home Office faith community initiatives.

The Evangelical Alliance notes Dr Bari’s particular interest in the family and youth issues, and we look forward to working with Dr Bari on these challenging matters facing Britain today.
