Web pages give advice to those with HR/personnel responsibilities
17 August 2006
The Evangelical Alliance has launched an online resource for Human Resources and personnel managers, at www.eauk.org/hrnetwork
The web pages give advice on recruitment and selection, learning and development, health and safety, data protection, and other issues that affect anyone with HR/personnel responsibilities.
The facility has developed from the Evangelical Alliance’s ‘HR network’, set up for Christians working in HR and personnel. The HR network holds meetings in the Spring and Autumn each year, but the new section of the Evangelical Alliance website means advice and information is available at any time.
The online resource will be further developed later this year, when a discussion forum will be added, where people can post comments and questions, and get responses from other Christians working in HR.
The Associate Director of HR at the Evangelical Alliance, Sheila Jones, says, ‘The desire to share good practice is evident from feedback at our conferences and the need for excellence in the Christian sector on HR issues is paramount. We hope the web pages will provide a starting point for both of these as we seek to glorify God in all that we do.'
One of the network members on receiving information about the online resources had this to say: “Well done for pioneering this. It could be enormously beneficial.”
