Who's who in the Press Office

Senior Press Officer: Charis Gibson

Charis Gibson has a degree in media studies from the University of Ulster and a postgraduate diploma in newspaper journalism from De Montfort University. She previously worked as a reporter on the Coleraine Chronicle, Basingstoke Gazette and Daily Echo, Bournemouth, with a variety of experience from crime reporting to campaigns and features.

Her role includes writing media strategy, liasing with the media and writing. She works closely with the General Director and the Director of Public Policy.

Micah Challenge Press Officer: Jo Duckles

Jo has worked on several newspapers including the Bridlington Free Press, Basingstoke Gazette, Hull Daily Mail, the Oxford Mail and the Oxford Times. She has a degree in Social Studies with English from Leeds University and journalism qualifications. Her roles have included reporting on crime, entertainment and health and making short videos for the internet.

As Micah Challenge Press Officer she is working to build up Micah Challenge’s profile in the media, writing press releases, setting up radio and television interviews with Micah spokespeople and liaising with journalists and dealing with enquiries.

Press Officer (part time): Liz Hogarth

Liz Hogarth is a part time press officer at the Evangelical Alliance. She is a former journalist with the Baptist Times. She has a masters degree in history from the University of Warwick.

Her role includes writing press releases and liaising with the media. She worked previously at Lambeth Palace for the Archbishop of Canterbury and at Christian relief and development charities, Tearfund and Feed the Minds.

Press Officer: Lucy Cooper

Lucy has a degree in International Development with a minor in Theology from Leeds University.

Her role at the Alliance includes writing press releases and liaising with the media. She sets up interviews, handles enquiries and maintains the web pages.

Press and Media Assistant: Nicole Holmes

Nicole has a degree in Journalism and creative writing from Miami University, USA. She is married to Tim and enjoys writing poetry in her spare time.

Her role at the Alliance is to support the press office and perform a variety of tasks including handling media enquiries, updating the website and maintaining contacts.
