G8 prayer summit
Alongside the world's most powerful political leaders flying into Northern Ireland this week were some other special guests. Coming from as far afield as Canada, 'prayer warriors' flew in to attend a prayer summit running alongside the G8. Transformations Ireland organised the event with Ian Cole of the World Prayer Centre helping to co-ordinate proceedings.
I was privileged to join with them on Monday as those present shared stories of past prayer summits and asked for God's blessing and protection over the current G8. We had the opportunity to pray for each world leader present, and for the important decisions they were making. As David Cameron and the other world leaders discussed trade, tax, transparency and terrorism, we prayed for truth, testimony, trafficking and transformation.
And we weren't alone in our prayers. With live video streams coming in from Coleraine, Bangor and Enniskillen there was a real sense of unity across Northern Ireland covering this monumental event. As the G8 enters its second and last day we would ask that you continue to join with us in prayer.
