Party Conferences

Church services and events at the Party Conferences

During September and early October the political parties will be holding their annual conferences. At each conference there is a church service and other events organised by the Christian group within the party. If you live in Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham or close by, find out more about the events and come along.

LDCFLiberal Democrats, Liverpool 18-23 September

The Liberal Democrat Federal Conference between 18th and 23rd September is being held in Liverpool this year, the first conference with the party represented in government for decades. And the party conference sees a full schedule of events being hosted by the Liberal Democrat Christian Forum at which all are welcome to attend and get involved with. All the events are outside the secure zone so people without passes are welcome - if you have friends in and around Liverpool, invite them!

LDCF is also running a stall in the exhibition zone and would appreciate it if everyone could make it along for a chat and catch-up!

The conference church service will take place on 19 September 9.30am at St. Nicks, Liverpool Parish Church.  On the evening of the 19th a fringe event will explore the relationship between Christianity and the Liberal Democrats.  For further information about these events as well as others organised by the Liberal Democrat Christian Forum please visit their website.

CSMLabour, Manchester 26-29 September

Beginning with the Conference Church service on Sunday 26 September, the Christian Socialist Movement will then be hosting a range of events throughout the Labour Party Conference.  The service will take place at Manchester Cathedral at 10.30am with Archbishop Peter Smith, Archbishop of Southwark, speaking and featuring the Manchester Singout Gospel Choir.  Following this service will be a reception to celebrate 50 years of the Christian Socialist Movement.

At 6pm on 26 September an event for anyone wanting to find out more about politics and how to get involved.  'Future Leaders' will provide inspiration and training for Christians exploring political engagement. This is in conjunction with Christians in Politics and will take place at King's Church, Sidney Street.
