Social Justice

The Evangelical Alliance Public Affairs department is working across a wide range of social justice issues seeking to apply Christian values in a relevant way to modern society. We are involved with partners and in championing the work of our members across a wide range of social justice issues.

The Evangelical Alliance Public Affairs department has conducted extensive and ongoing work over the past number of years on the Gambling Act. The Alliance has also looked at the issue of Asylum seekers who convert to Christianity and whether they are getting a fair hearing for leave to remain in this country. The Evangelical Alliance has over thirty member organisations involved in disaster relief and development work from large Disaster Emergency Relief charities to much smaller specialised agencies. The Evangelical Alliance has contact with the Department for International Development (DFID) and in December 2005 ran an event to highlight to DFID the excellent work of our member aid agencies.
