Resources for outreach or themed church services 

Breakout Trust have produced "It's a Boy" a DVD that is suitable for use at evangelistic events that have a Christmas theme. £9.99 from www.breakout.org.uk

Bible Society* have created "Christmas Unwrapped" www.christmasunwrapped.org.uk which features a short animated video of the Christmas story as told in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke that can be added to church websites. There are also longer illustrated readings that can be downloaded for use during Christmas services http://bit.ly/cAnVzw

CMS have developed Share the Light advent resource. Share the Light is about taking time at Christmas to share the light of Jesus with our local community. The basic idea is to literally give light (a candle) to someone, pray for them, and invite them to be part of a Share the Light service at your church. CPO (Christian Publishing & Outreach)* offer a full range of Christmas promotional and advertising materials for your church's outreach service which can be overprinted with church details; they also have evangelistic tracts and booklets that can be given out at events.

Grove Books have published 'The Christmas Stories in Faith and Preaching' by John Proctor which looks at the distinctive emphases between biblical accounts of the Christmas story to open up some much needed fresh ideas for exposition and celebration. Livability* have produced a resource entitled Neighbourhood Nativity that is intended to enable your church to show it takes disability and poverty seriously. Paperless Christmas
developed by the Bible Reading Fellowship have a Jesus and Mary road movie that you could play in your church youth group or at Christmas themed evangelistic events. They also have resources to accompany each episode of the story that are aimed at teachers and church youth group leaders www.paperlesschristmas.org.

Philo Trust* has What's the point of Christmas tract by J John that can be bought individually or as a pack for handing out at events. They also have a number of other tracts suitable for handing out at Christmas events.

Christmas gift cards or gift tokens
Many charities offer Christians the opportunity to select gifts on behalf of their family and friends to send them to those in desperate need. 
Some creative gift ideas include: Bicycles for pastors; goats, pigs, cows or chickens for poor families; Bibles for believers; winter coats for those in need; Bible training for young believers; seed kits for farmers; blankets; medical for street children; and more.

It is worth remembering that many charities produce their own Christmas cards to raise funds. Why not contact your favourite charity to ask whether they have cards for sale?  Always check the percentage given to the designated charity in high street selections, as it may be minimal.
