The Evangelical Alliance Scotland wish to convey concern that a Street preacher in Glasgow, Shawn Holes, has recently been arrested and charged for 'breach of the peace' simply for expressing widely held convictions and beliefs.
Fred Drummond National Director of the Evangelical Alliance in Scotland notes "The case would appear to raise a number of issues and we will be inquiring further into the circumstances of the arrest and seeking clarification of the guidelines followed by Strathclyde Police and the Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill."
The Evangelical Alliance intend to monitor the situation closely to ensure long held freedom to express religious freedom in Scotland is protected.
