DigiMission Synchro-blog

Attention all bloggers:

We're organising a synchronised blogging day for Thursday 12 November. We're asking bloggers to come up with creative ideas for how Christians can use the digital space to impact mission which will feed into the DigiMission day. Post it on your blog, let us know that you've done it, and stick a DigiMission advert in as well to let all your readers know about it.

Email slipstream@eauk.org for more information or to let us know you're participating. Include "synchro-blog" in the subject line and give us your name, blog name and postal address. We'll send you a DigiMission jpeg with a link to the event information. And don't forget to put it all on Twitter too (in 140 characters or less, of course) using the trending topic #digimission.

The three best entries will each win a set of November's Test of Faith materials. So get blogging!

Here is a bit about Test of Faith:

Our aim is to help people in churches and other settings to explore science-faith issues in a way that is relevant and accessible for everyone - regardless of their educational background, experience of science, or knowledge of the Christian faith.

The Test of FAITH documentary explores the views of Christians whose calling is science. The accompanying course materials cover these and a number of other perspectives. We believe that it is important for people to discuss science-faith issues openly, covering a range of different viewpoints that take both the Bible and Christian doctrine seriously.

The material consists of:

  • A DVD containing the award-winning 3 x 30 minute Test of FAITH documentary, plus over an hour of bonus material.
  • A study guide to help small groups work through the material in the DVD at their own pace, with DVD summary sheets, Bible study, discussion and other activities.
  • A leader's guide that provides all the content of the study guide plus suggested responses to questions, critical background information, resources and ideas to make the most of the course.
  • A short book containing the life stories of some of the scientists featured in the DVD
  • Youth, schools' and children's material

Contributors include: particle physicist-turned priest Sir John Polkinghorne, theologian Professor Alister McGrath, astrophysicist Professor Katherine Blundell, theologian Dr David Wilkinson, Neurologist Alasdair Coles, Immunologist Dr Denis Alexander, and the new US National Institutes of Health director Dr Francis Collins.
