Shane Claiborne: The Irresistible Revolution
The Irresistible Revolution: an event with Shane Claiborne, hosted by Mission Year, in partnership with Pentecost Festival
Date and Venue: Friday 21st May, 7.30pm at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster.
Comfortable?
Well, maybe we shouldn't be. Meet Shane, a prophetic Christian activist. Having spent 10-weeks working alongside Mother Teresa in Calcutta and three weeks in Baghdad during the war in Iraq with the Iraq Peace Team, he sees the Christian message from a fresh perspective. His best selling books (The Irresistible Revolution, Jesus for President, and Becoming the Answer to Our Prayers) paint a radical new vision for social action, peacemaking and community. His passion is found not only in his words but with The Simple Way, a faith community that he has helped pioneer in inner city Philadelphia.
Shane's take on Jesus' instructions that are illustrated by his profound and often hysterical stories are causing a revolution… a revolution of ordinary radicals ready to change the world with little acts of love. This evening is your opportunity to find out more about this revolution and how you can play your part!
Shane will be supported by singer song writer Nicki Rogers (www.nickirogers.com), who has just released her third album. Nicki also has a passion for people to glimpse something more of the reality of Jesus. With her captivating stage presence and her infectious vocals, she will entertain and inspire. Further guests will be confirmed.
Tickets cost £10.50 and can be booked at: http://www.pentecostfestival.co.uk/tickets
