20-30’s and the Church

The numbers attending church in the 20-29 age group has declined from 520,900 in 1985 to 230,600 in 2006, a decline of 62%.
Frequency of churchgoing declines rapidly in the 20-29 age group so that by the time they are in their 30's they are the least frequent churchgoers of any age group.

The percentage of churchgoers in the 20-29 age group is 7% of the total churchgoing population. The overall percentage of 20-29 year olds in the population as a whole is 13%.
Average of churchgoers is 45 whereas the average age of the population is 40.
