Charismatic Movement - 'Charismatic Renewal in Britain: Roots, Influences and Later Developments' by David Hilborn Any serious account of 'charismatic’ Christianity in Britain needs to look back a good deal further than the modern ‘Charismatic Renewal Movement'. Towards the end of this paper, we shall see that this movement began in the UK in early 1960s. We shall also see that it was in turn consciously indebted to Pentecostalism, whose influence had been felt significantly on British soil from 1907.
