Cardiff Man Healed After Children's Prayer

From slipped disk to full health

20 July 2010

Cardiff resident Andrew Davies has had a miracle, thanks to his children.

The father of five and pastor of Rhiwbina Baptist Church recently slipped a disk in his lower back and was in great pain. A sudden twisting movement sent his back into spasm. A visit to the doctor confirmed the diagnosis as evidenced by the sick certificate which kept him from work for a week, later renewed for another seven days.

After ten days sick leave, Andrew was becoming increasingly frustrated with his condition.

"I was due to take part in a conference in Brighton the following week and I really needed to be there, but I was in terrible pain" said Andrew. "Standing, lying or walking were all equally unpleasant but I'd been very ill last year and I wanted my family to enjoy our forthcoming holiday in France," he added.

However on Friday 2 July, a dramatic change took place. Andrew's children decided to take matters in hand and prayed for their dad.

"I was lying on a camp bed in our living room when the kids came over and prayed for me. They put their hands on my back and asked Jesus to make me better," said Andrew.

The children then went to their various schools leaving Andrew alone.

Andrew takes up the story: "As soon as they left and my wife went to work, my back started tingling. It was like I had Deep Heat in my spine, it was amazing. This carried on all day and my movements became a little easier. By the time the kids came back from school I was a lot better but they insisted on praying for me again. Within a few hours I was completely well."

The following day Andrew walked to Rhiwbina village with his children and was able to drive to Brighton on Monday 5 April.

"There's plenty of suffering in the world, but miracles still happen," said Andrew. "All my children did was pray for their dad and look at me now!"
