Elfed Godding, National Director Evangelical Alliance Wales

Elfed Godding, General Secretary EA WalesIn September 1999 Elfed Godding joined Evangelical Alliance  Wales as General Secretary from Oswestry, Shropshire, where he pastored Carreg Llwyd Church for 10 years.

Before that he was pastor of Cranleigh Community Church in Bournemouth for 8 years, following a call during his three years at Moorlands College.

Elfed has also graduated from the Nazarene Theological College with a Masters Degree in 'Aspects of Christian Holiness'.

He is married to Jackie and they have two adult sons, Neil and Joe.

Since taking up the position of National Director, Elfed has travelled extensively throughout Wales communicating the vision and mission of the Welsh Alliance.

There has been steady growth in membership as evangelicals across Wales have come together in exciting initiatives and projects. Evangelicals are increasingly recognised as an influential and growing constituency by the wider Church, the media and the National Assembly, with the Evangelical Alliance Wales being seen as a key representative body.

Jim Stewart, National Assembly Liaison Officer

Jim Stewart, National Assembly Liaison OfficerJim joined EA Wales as National Assembly Liaison Officer in August 2005, taking over from Dan Boucher. Jim was born in Wales but grew up in Canada and hence has an interesting accent!

Prior to joining EA Wales, he was with BBC Wales’ Political Unit as journalist and researcher and has also worked extensively in teaching, care and youth work. He is well travelled – over 20 countries at last count, including a year spent in the Welsh region of Patagonia in Argentina – and speaks Welsh, Spanish and is not bad in French.

He works in Public Affairs and is keen to see the church taking its place in society and to be well represented.

Cynthia Williams, Administrator

Ctnthia Williams, AdministratorCynthia was born and brought up in Pontypool, in Torfaen. She is married to Mel and they have four children, three grandchildren and two sons-in-law. They have lived in Cardiff since 1971 and attend Highfields Free Church.

She has been working with Evangelical Alliance Wales since 1994. Before that time she worked for Lindsay Brown who was the then European Secretary of International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. Cynthia can be contacted on wales@eauk.org  

 

Margaret Haines, volunteer

Margaret and her husband Julian live in The Vale of Glamorgan and have two adult children. Since 2000 she has provided invaluable administrative support two days a week in the EA Wales office.

Christine Spillards, volunteer

Christine, who with her husband Ron has served in a variety of Christian ministries for many years, assists Cynthia by bringing her unique eye for detail to bear upon our administration. She and Ron have two adult children and two grand children. 

Tony Ford, Chief Executive Officer of Gweini

Tony joined Gweini in 2005 as the full time CEO having worked for a number of Christian charities following early retirement from Barclays Bank. Tony is married to Jenny and they have three adult children gweini@uk2.net

John Evans, Research Director for Gweini

A former government statistician, John joined Gweini in 2006 to spearhead an Assembly-endorsed 'Faith Communities Audit'. John is married to Rosamund and they have two children and three grand children johnmartinevans@gweini.org.uk
