election And Qualification Criteria For This Index
The index seeks to include all church denominations in Wales that:
a) Subscribe to a Trinitarian (i.e. orthodox/mainstream Christian) theology (i.e. not the Christian satellites or cults e.g. the Jehovah’s Witnesses) and
b) Constitute a denomination with more than one congregation unless the Church is of a unique category, e.g. ‘The Arabic Church in Wales’.
Independents?
Users of this guide must remember that it does not refer to completely independent churches, of which there are a large number in Wales. If it did the index would become very long. It should be noted, however, that a good number of these independent congregations are associated to the umbrella body, the Evangelical Alliance.
Size
The index lists denominations/streams of all sizes. These are listed in alphabetical order not the order of their size.
