The Sports Quiz

The Sports Mission Pack is full of resources to reach sportspeople in your local area — of which there will be thousands. Additional material has now been added to the Sports Mission Pack ahead of the various World Cups running this summer. Christians in Sport would love you to read on below for more information and to use these resources to reach your world of sport for Christ. A golden opportunity for sports mission will arise this summer with the convergence of four World Cup events over the course of six months. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup begins this Friday 30 May and runs until 14 July. In this span of nearly two months, two further World Cups will kick off, with the FIFA Women’s World Cup launching in France (4 June — 4 July) and Liverpool hosting the INF Netball World Cup (12 July — 21 July), followed shortly after by the Rugby World Cup in Japan (20 September — 2 November). What an opportunity these events present to reach your teammates and local sportspeople with the Good News through World Cup-themed events! Why not put on a sports quiz and share a testimony or show one of our films at half time? Maybe show a sports event on a big screen at your church and share something about the Christian faith before or after the match? How about running a sports tournament for the community? We have all you need to do just that! There’s lots of ways to reach out to sportspeople in your area and we’d love to help in any way we can.
