     #### Money and PPE are being made available to churches and Christian projects around the UK that are striving to meet the practical needs of their local communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of a new initiative called ‘This is Love’, Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse UK is partnering with churches and ministries as they seek to support those who are disadvantaged, suffering from the direct and indirect effects of coronavirus, during this time.

Providing foodbanks and care for the elderly and infirm, including people with special needs or mental health issues, are among the ways Christian communities on the ground are offering physical, emotional and spiritual relief in these trying times, and the humanitarian aid organisation is keen to help finance this good work and provide community care kits to ensure workers are safe.

On offer are community care grants of £1,000, £3,000 and £5,000, to help sustain the work being carried out by churches and ministries or to get a new project off the ground. Also available are community care kits, which comprise personal protection equipment (PPE), for essential religious workers, the vulnerable and those conducting community ministry.

Visit the [This is Love webpage](https://www.samaritans-purse.org.uk/this-is-love/) to find out more, apply for assistance or provide financial support to ensure as many others are able to benefit. Samaritan’s Purse says, “All across the country thousands of Christians feel called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in these unprecedented times. Through our This Is Love initiative we aim to stand with them, to ensure they are equipped to go and care for a country in need.”
