Soul Survivor rejoices over a “wonderful summer” as its string of festivals attract thousands of Christians and sees a record number of individuals accept Jesus Christ.

The Christian movement, which announced last June that this year’s series of summer events would be its last after 27 years, held its final summer festival on Tuesday. The team have shared that the festivals have been a great success, with more than 32,500 people in attendance and 2,100 people coming to faith – the highest number in the last 10 years.

Mike Pilavachi, founder and leader of Soul Survivor, said: It’s been a wonderful summer, all that we hoped it would be and more. We didn’t want to spend the time looking back at what God has done in the past but meet with Him in the here and now.

God poured out His Spirit and we’ve loved every minute of soaking in His presence and watching Him at work. Thousands have gone home knowing more of their Saviour’s love, passionate about following Him, and equipped and empowered to serve Him in their everyday lives. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish.”

Mike, who the Evangelical Alliance interviewed in March about Soul Survivor, his heart for young people and what he has planned for the future, added that while the festivals have come to an end, Soul Survivor will continue to serve the church in other ways.

He said: We remain committed to encouraging and equipping people of all ages to live in God’s presence and power, and are passionate about seeing churches grow as families rather than being run on business principles. We will continue to serve from our church, Soul Survivor Watford, and already have a number of events planned for this coming year.”
