We have reached the end of 2025. In today’s series finale of Cross Section, the full team spend time looking back at some of the biggest events, trends and moments of the past 12 months.

What are the key political, cultural and spiritual themes that we have seen? The team discuss the significant changes within UK politics. The Labour Party are increasingly unpopular, with the popularity of both Reform UK and the Green Party surging. It is safe to say that politically, things look and feel very different to this time last year.

Conversation then moves to the cultural and spiritual themes. This year saw the release of The Quiet Revival research, with many seeing increasing numbers of individuals showing interest in faith and Christianity. There have also been significant cultural moments such as the Supreme Court ruling on the legal definition of a woman. The team also reflect on the significance of Christian nationalism and how that has been so prevalent – particularly in the last six months.

The team then test their knowledge in a 2025 quiz. Questions range from Taylor Swift to sport, and from political moments to TV and film. Who knows best? And who knows the most about Cross Section?

For the final few minutes, the team turn their focus to 2026. They discuss their predictions for the next year. Will Keir Starmer still be prime minister next December? How will some of today’s biggest conversations continue in the coming months? Watch the episode now to find out.

Thank you for engaging with Cross Section over the last year. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas celebrating Jesus entering the world.
