These documents provide guidance and advice relating to Relationships and Sex Education at secondary schools. Given the new Relationships and Sex Education subject explores what it means to be human and what it means to be a person in community, parents have an opportunity, whichever type of school their child attends, to show through their engagement with these issues that ​“we love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). All parents have an important role to play when it comes to working with schools as they develop their Relationships Education policy. Even if your child does not attend a religious character school, you should still have the opportunity to engage in the process. Remember, there will be no opt-out provision from Relationships Education in primary school.
