#### Join us on Thursday, 16 July for this essential webinar on the evolving GDPR landscape for charities

 

  Since 5 February 2026, charities have been able to use the new Charitable Purposes Soft Opt-In, allowing them to send marketing messages to individuals by electronic mail without consent in some cases, provided particular requirements are met. This includes channels such as email, SMS and social direct messages.

  This 60-minute webinar, in partnership with Nick Swain from Zorva Consulting, will help charities understand what has changed, how the new ICO guidance applies, and what practical steps they may need to take. Nick is an experienced data protection professional and an organisational member of the Evangelical Alliance.

The webinar is provided free to Evangelical Alliance members and is aimed at those involved in fundraising or supporter communications, individuals overseeing compliance with the UK GDPR and other data protection regulations, those responsible for CRM or donor databases, and managers or board members making related management decisions.

The session will cover:

- How the Charitable Purposes Soft Opt-In works, when it applies and when it does not.
- The requirements charities need to meet before using it.
- Case studies from the ICO guidance and how they may apply in practice.
- The questions to ask your CRM provider.
- How to develop an action plan for your own organisation.
- When consent may still be the better or more appropriate route.
- How to ask questions and get further help.
