Choosing God’s people: using your faith in recruitment

Join the HR Network's day conference this October

Join the HR Network for a day conference equipping you to use your faith as you recruit excellent people for your church or organisation, led by Richard Marshall.

16 October 2018
9.30am for a 10.00am start, finishing by 4pm
Evangelical Alliance
176 Copenhagen Street, London N1 0ST

We’ll explore:

  • how to establish an organisational Christian identity
  • how to find well-qualified Christian applicants
  • how to strengthen your selection processes
  • how to give your new staff every chance to succeed
  • how to apply Christian values throughout the process

  • how you can create a Christian ethos that works in theory and in practice, and build that ethos into your job descriptions, whilst staying on the right side of the law…
  • how you can write the best job adverts, maximise the quality and quantity of applications, and build a strong short list to choose from…
  • how to use a range of methods to select the right person for the job (and organisation/church) and differentiate between professional Christians and Christian professionals…
  • how you can establish the right on-boarding processes, manage the first 90 days, and make sure expectations are clear and well-communicated
  • how you can stay faithful to your Christian mission and discern God’s guidance throughout.

Book your tickets here.

The day will involve a mix of tips, templates and tools, and will encourage you to work on real issues, share real experiences, and identify real actions you can take. Come ready to share your questions, your examples, your challenges and your stories of good practice. As usual with these events, there will be lots of opportunity to network with others in similar roles and to learn from one another.

Bruna De Palo from Charityjob will also be with us in the morning to show us what makes a great advert and how we can best use job advertising sites such as Charityjob.
