Applications now open for autumn 2021

Society has been shaken over the past year, revealing that we need leaders who move in the wisdom and power of God. Have you ever considered:

  • How God could use these circumstances to shape your nation for good?
  • How you might play your part to lead wherever God has placed you?
  • How Christian public leadership can help you step up for the sake of others?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, and you are in your 20s or 30s, we want to hear from you.

You may have experience in the arts, media, academia, business, education, civil society, politics, healthcare or another sector. You may have been to university or have completed an apprenticeship. You may be a key worker, part of the work-from-home army or have spent time on furlough over the past year. We want to hear from you.

Most important of all, if you are hungry to learn and have a heart to use your influence to lead where God has placed, we want to hear from you.

We have three 24-hour residential weekends, each taking place at Crieff Hydro in Perthshire. These will take place on:

  • 10 – 11 September 2021
  • 4 – 5 February 2022
  • 3 – 4 June 2022

In addition to the residential weekends, participants will be invited to take part in discovery events’ throughout the programme. These allow you to meet leaders in their context, and to understand some of the spheres that shape Scottish culture.

In previous years we have visited BBC Scotland, the Scottish Parliament and the Court of Session for a greater understanding of media, government and law, as well as Ross County FC in Dingwall for a fantastic example of sports, community and business leadership in rural Scotland.

New feature

Three core online teaching sessions, with top national and international contributors, will take place in November, February and April. These mixed format sessions will draw together the four cohorts from across the UK

The speakers for 2021/22 are currently being finalised. Previous speakers have included:

  • Sir Brian Souter (founder of Stagecoach Group)
  • Peter Vardy (CEO Peter Vardy Group)
  • Pamela Lyall (commercial mediator)
  • Ian Marchant, (chair of Thames Water and formerly CEO of SSE)
  • Elaine Duncan (CEO of Scottish Bible Society)
  • Dave Richards (rector of Ps & Gs church, Edinburgh)

Public leader network

After the programme, participants will be invited to join our wider Scottish public leader network – a community of all those who have been involved in the programme as participants, mentors and speakers. The network has a number of different online and in-person events each year, bringing leaders together locally and nationally.

Standard fee: £600

We encourage participants to consider approaching their workplace or church for support. A limited number of bursaries are available to help those who need financial help. Please discuss this with us at the interview stage.
