Psalm 4: Prayer reflection

There are times when it is hard to sleep.
Ideas and worries buzz around my head like bees.
Where did that tune come from that sweeps through my mind?
Restlessness pins me down.
How long till daylight?
I stop and reflect upon your faithfulness. You radiate light and joy.
Peace floods into my spirit like early light through the gap in the curtains.
I lie down and sleep in peace because of you.
Lord my God, I hand over to you all the cares and concerns that come in the night.
The whispers of doubt and the taunts of fear. I release them to you.
Your perfect love drives fear away from me. In you alone is true peace.
I rest in you.
Amen
