Bible stories in a box

Bible stories in a box

In October 2014 a Christian couple from Bedfordshire, Adam and Becky May, unveiled The Treasure Box People, an innovative resource for families which brings Bible stories into the home.

With more than 15 years of children's ministry experience and eight years as a primary school teacher, Becky had a seemingly endless supply of art and craft materials. She, Adam, their young son Isaac and other children found themselves exploring ways of sharing their faith with people at key times such as Christmas, Easter and baptisms.

Through this process, the couple have longed to find other ways to share Bible stories with children in their own family and other families like theirs through fun, relevant and innovative activities. That's how The Treasure Box People was born.

The idea is that each month a Treasure Box will be delivered to a subscriber's door, filled with a number of creative ways to share Bible stories. Each letterbox-sized Treasure Box will bring together everything a family needs to complete a number of activities including prayer, crafts, games and more.

Each Treasure Box provides an innovative tool to help parents, grandparents and godparents to disciple their children throughout the week, so that Biblical teaching is enhanced beyond the weekly activities of the church, and not simply limited to Sundays. This is a unique resource for children aged 5 - 8 years old and their families.

The Treasure Box People had a successful kick-starter campaign to find the initial funds to bring this product to market. The project was shared with over 400 delegates at the European Puppet Ministry Festival and there was local media attention to promote their idea beyond their friends, family and immediate contacts.

The couple will be launching and selling the first Treasure Boxes at the Hand in Hand Family Ministry Conference in Eastbourne in February 2015.
People can sign up to receive a one-off Treasure Box or for a 6 monthly or annual subscription. The cost of a single Treasure Box is £10.00 - including postage and packing. There are discounts available for 6 month or 12 month subscriptions.
