Churches called to mark National Outreach Day on Pentecost Sunday

Outreach UK is inviting churches to take part in National Outreach Day on 15 May.

Pentecost Sunday celebrates the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church.

Churches are being encouraged to use the day to encourage Christians to share the message of Jesus in their communities.

Trevor Dickerson, national field director of Outreach UK, said: "There are a number of other days in the Church diary where a specific area of life or church life is celebrated, so why not a specific day to focus on the life-changing good news of the gospel?

"The hope is that this will not be confined to just one day, but will be a catalyst for each church to take the great commission seriously and focus church members thoughts on spreading the good news of Jesus Christ."

Lunches, question panels and befriending programmes are just a few ways churches can reach out to their communities.

For church leaders and speakers, there are also sermon suggestions and outlines.

You can find resources, ideas and suggestions for National Outreach Day on the Outreach UK website, or by emailing info@eauk.org.

We're looking for stories of people coming to faith – if you've got an experience you want to share, please email info@eauk.org.
