Ministries that need Bibles can use a new crowdsourcing website to receive them for free.

Set up by Hodder Faith, Givingbibles.com is a way for churches and organisations to get the Bibles they need.

Instead of donating cash, supporters can donate a Bible from the chosen selection.

Joanna Davey, Bible editor at Hodder Faith, said: "GivingBibles.com is a very exciting new venture for Hodder Faith.

"With more and more churches and Christian organisations embracing digital methods to communicate with their members and supporters, it's great to be providing such a valuable tool to enable them to source the Bible resources they need."

Anyone can set up an appeal by selecting the Bibles and writing a short pitch about why they're needed, then sharing the appeal with friends and supporters via email or social media.

The Bible is delivered free of charge in the UK within five working days with appeals for overseas causes delivered to the organiser's UK address.

Alliance member Biblica, the International Bible Society, receives 10 per cent of every sale for their work in Bible translation and distribution worldwide.
