Stewardship launch new online fundraising service

Stewardship have launched a new online fundraising service for charities, churches and full-time Christian workers.

The new website, Give.net, is an alternative to sites such as JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving.

Michael O’Neil, the chief executive of Stewardship, explains: “Stewardship exists to help Christians give generously and to support the fundraising efforts of churches, charities and full-time Christian workers across the UK.

“We have launched give.net as part of our ongoing commitment to develop online tools to help make giving simple, easy and convenient. Give.net is a not-for-profit service run by a charity; for charities.”

Stewardship are a Christian charity which has existed since 1904 to help people give.

The idea of the site was sparked by requests, from both givers and recipients, when Stewardship launched their internet giving accounts in 2011.

Like other fundraising websites, Give.net enables people to give to chosen charities online and reclaim Gift Aid automatically.

They also hope to open their website up in the coming months to those in full-time Christian work so that they can raise personal financial support.

Mr O'Neil added: “Anybody interested in fundraising for one of these causes can create their own give.net fundraising page in under a minute and share it with friends and family through email, Facebook or Twitter.

“Our hope is that this new site is a blessing to these ministries, churches and charities for many years to come.”
