Trafficking meets justice

Trafficking meets justice

On 6 March we met with the Minister for Justice, David Ford. We put forward our proposals on dealing with the users of sex trafficking. At the moment in Northern Ireland if someone is convicted of 'paying for the sexual services of a prostitute subject to force' or a trafficked girl, they face a maximum of a £1,000 fine.

Our suggestion is simple: Someone convicted of this offence should face a custodial sentence (prison) and be added to the sex offender's register.

The message from the government needs to be clear and strong. Those fuelling the sex trafficking trade will pay with prison and by becoming a social stigma.

More about our campaign and how you can be involved is coming soon...
