The Scottish Parliament election on Thursday 7 May is a significant moment for Scotland and the future of our nation. As well as voting, our role as Christians is to pray.

One week before the election, Christians from across the city will gather in Glasgow to pray for our nation, its people and our leaders. The Evangelical Alliance in Scotland is delighted to be partnering with CARE for Scotland, Pray for Scotland and 24 – 7 Prayer Scotland in hosting this significant time of prayer.

As followers of Jesus, we want to respond to the biblical call to pray for those in authority, asking God to give us political leaders with integrity who will serve the nation well. We will pray for Scotland to flourish as God’s kingdom comes and His will is done.

Our prayers will be in a variety of styles, so whether you prefer a creative prayer station, spoken liturgy or small group prayer, there will be something for you.

Join us as we come together in prayer for our nation at this important time.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1 – 4)
