After years of feeling that something was missing, a mums and tots group at her local church set Belinda on a journey to faith that brought her wholeness, new friendships and a supportive community.

1. What first sparked your curiosity about Jesus or the Christian faith?

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to belong. I was not quite sure where or to what, but I felt there was something more. A few years ago, I first attended my church through a mums and tots group with my youngest son. I met many lovely women and built some meaningful connections, but at that time I knew very little about Christianity or the church community behind it all.

2. Describe the moment when you decided to follow Jesus.

A few years later, we began attending church as a family. My husband and I had been thinking about it for a long time and, looking back, I can now see that Jesus was speaking to my heart. From the very first service, I felt a sense of wholeness. It was as though I had finally found where I was meant to be. I had never experienced anything like it before.

It did take time for me to understand the word of God, especially reading the Bible, as I did not grow up with a background of faith. However, I soon realised that God meets us where we are. None of that disqualified me. I gave my life to Christ and was then baptised on 12 October 2025. The Bible teaches that when we accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we are born again and become a new creation. I truly feel that transformation in my own life. Following Jesus has changed me from the inside out.

"Following Jesus has changed me from the inside out."

3. Who or what helped you as you explored faith?

The people I met and the relationships I built within my church family have been such an important part of my journey. Their encouragement, wisdom and friendship have helped me grow in confidence and understanding. My outlook on life, my priorities and even the person I am today are completely different from who I was before I knew Jesus. I am so grateful for the amazing friendships I have formed and the way they continue to help me explore my faith more deeply.

4. What difference has following Jesus made in your life so far?

I now attend Bible study groups and prayer meetings, which I never would have done before. As I have grown in faith, I have become more aware of how God is working in our communities and through ordinary people like us. Seeing that has been truly amazing. My faith has given me peace, purpose and a deeper sense of security. God’s love is unlike anything I have ever known.

"God’s love is unlike anything I have ever known."

5. What would you say to someone who is curious about Christianity today?

I would encourage anyone curious about Christianity to dive into finding out more about Jesus. I only wish I had come to know God sooner; but I find comfort knowing that He called me when I was ready. Jesus has already done so many amazing things in my life and He can do it for you too.
