     #### For years, church was simply part of life, until one sermon and a heartfelt conversation changed everything.

**1. What first sparked your curiosity about Jesus or the Christian faith?**

As children growing up in the 1950s it was quite normal to attend Sunday School, even if you did not necessarily have a Christian upbringing. After we got married and had children we wanted to get them baptised and for them to attend Sunday School. We also were associated with the church through Boys and Girls Brigade, however we were still irregular church attenders.

These regular connections with the church sparked a growing curiosity in us, leading us to attend more consistently and become increasingly impacted by the messages that we heard.

> These regular connections with the church sparked a growing curiosity in us...”

**2. Describe the moment when you decided to follow Jesus.**

Later in life, we found ourselves attending church more regularly, and the sermons increasingly began to impact us and make more sense. One Sunday our minister said that church attendance and living a good, wholesome life (us) did not make you a Christian. He emphasised the need to be born again and to accept the Lord as your Saviour.

Two days later we called our daughter (a Christian), and she said she had been praying for us and that now was the time to accept Jesus into our lives. The emotions were totally overwhelming. We prayed together asking the Lord to forgive our sins and we cried uncontrollably as we accepted the Lord into our lives. Almost immediately our world changed.

**3. Who or what helped you as you explored faith?**

The simple answer is that it was our church family. We have thrown ourselves into church activities and groups, including Bible study and prayer meetings — a fine balancing act as we are also busy grandparents!

> ...we cried uncontrollably as we accepted the Lord into our lives. Almost immediately our world changed.”

**4. What difference has following Jesus made in your life so far?**

Put simply, since we started following Jesus we have experienced peace, inner calm and an overwhelming feeling of security and belonging.

**5. What would you say to someone who is curious about Christianity today?**

For those who are considering following Jesus, my advice would be simple; speak to a Christian about the Lord Jesus and do it now rather than putting it off! Don’t expect the Christian life to be easy, but as someone who became a Christian later in life, I can testify that it is absolutely worth it.
