New Both Lives Podcast is launched by the Evangelical Alliance – exploring what it means to truly value the lives of both women and unborn children in pregnancy.

Host, Dawn McAvoy, our Both Lives UK lead, will be joined for the first season of this new podcast by an array of guests, including Dr Dermot Kearney and Carla Lockhart MP.

The Both Lives Podcast is here to spark honest, bold and compassionate conversations around pregnancy and motherhood.

Each episode will bring an insightful guest from an array of backgrounds including from the worlds of medicine, law, frontline services and theology to explore the big questions and unpack what it means to value both lives in pregnancy.

We will deep dive into the way media and culture shape the way we think about abortion and the conversations around it, as well the stories that often go unheard or dismissed.

The Both Lives Podcast shifts the conversation from the binary of pro-life vs pro-choice to a collaborative, positive conversation seeking the wellbeing of both women and the pre-born.

Whether you're a parent, a policymaker, or just someone who is interested in these issues, the Both Lives Podcast offers a space to listen, learn, and connect with a more human-centred conversation around abortion.

“At the heart of the Both Lives Podcast is a belief in the God-given dignity of every human life. We want to tell a more loving, hopeful story – one where the lives of both women and their unborn children are valued during and after pregnancy.” – Dawn McAvoy, UK Both Lives lead.

The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all major platforms.

Guest bios
Dr Dermot Kearney, a consultant cardiologist based in the North East was banned for 18 months in May 2021 by the doctor's regulator, the GMC, from providing emergency life-saving treatment to unborn babies for women who regretted taking the abortion pill.
MP Carla Lockhart strongly opposes the decriminalisation of abortion in Great Britain and says that legalising abortion up to birth for any reason "is not care but extremism".

ABOUT BOTH LIVES
Both Lives is a pro-women and pro-life movement, imagining a people and place that values the life and health of women and unborn children, and actively pursues the wellbeing of both. Co-founded in 2017 by the Evangelical Alliance in Northern Ireland, Both Lives has grown into a UK-wide initiative of the Evangelical Alliance, bringing together diverse voices in collaborative efforts for change.

About the Evangelical Alliance

We are the Evangelical Alliance. We join together hundreds of organisations, thousands of churches and tens of thousands of individuals for the sake of the gospel. Representing our members since 1846, the Evangelical Alliance is the oldest and largest evangelical unity movement in the UK.

We love Jesus and we want everyone in the UK to be given an opportunity to know Him.

We love His church, and we will do all we can to unite evangelicals, building confidence in the gospel and speaking as a trusted voice into society to see it changed for Him.

Working across the UK, with offices in London, Cardiff, Glasgow and Belfast, our members come together from across denominations, locations, age groups and ethnicities, all sharing a passion to know Jesus and make Him known.
