Dear Lord,
We pray for our incoming prime minister, Andy Burnham. We pray that you will give him the wisdom to lead with integrity, the mercy and courage to seek justice, and the humility to lead sacrificially in the days ahead.
We pray that the task of leadership would not fall on him alone, but that he would build a good team around him.
We pray for our country, the UK. We pray that we would live in peace, love our neighbour and care for the vulnerable in our society.
We pray that our lives and politics would be characterised by biblical values of compassion, truth and hope. May we, your church, play our part in influencing and transforming society in this new season ahead.
