Steve, tell our members, what is Turn The Battle, and what is the vision behind it?

Turn The Battle is a national call to three days of prayer and fasting from 21 – 23 January 2026, uniting the church across the UK and Ireland in a decisive spiritual moment. The vision came during a personal time of worship while listening to a song based on 2 Chronicles 7:14.

The Lord moved me deeply – I was caught by surprise – as I felt a deep burden and wept for the British Isles, sensing clearly that ‘the battle is at the gate’ but that it can be turned in the place of united prayer and fasting.

This was not just a personal prompt but I was impressed to call Christians across the British Isles to pray; Isaiah 28:6 was quickened to me – God giving strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate. What followed has been remarkable: conversations, confirmations, and a growing alignment among leaders and networks. This is not one person’s initiative, it’s the voice of the Spirit calling the whole church to rise in this hour.

What’s the main focus for the three days of the event?

We’re rallying around three clear biblical themes:

1. A fresh commitment to prayer – seeking God with humility and hunger.

2. A fresh commitment to consecration – returning to holiness and wholehearted

obedience.

3. A fresh commitment to bold living – courageously witnessing and living out the

gospel with clarity and power.

The main aim is to mobilise as many people to pray and fast. It’s about the whole Body humbling itself under God’s mighty hand and a committing to three days of contending prayer and fasting.

That’s amazing! Who is already onboard?

We’ve seen extraordinary unity across denominations and streams. Among those already committed are the Evangelical Alliance and;

HTB and the HTB network, Assemblies of God, New Testament Church of God, Pioneer, Fusion, Catalyst, 24/7 Prayer, Prayer Storm & World Prayer Centre, Premier Radio, UCB, GodTV and many other local churches, movements and prayer communities.

We’ve also formed a steering group made up of respected national leaders from different networks to help shape and guide this with collective wisdom. The momentum is growing weekly.

How can church leaders and everyday evangelicals get involved?

Start by saving the dates: 21 – 23 January 2026, and visiting turnthebattle.uk. Then:

  1. Use the downloadable resources: themes, scriptures, prayer guides, graphics.
  2. Lead your church, group or ministry to participate, whether in Sunday services, midweek prayer meetings, 24/7 prayer rooms, personal devotion or fasting.
  3. Share the vision in your own spheres of influence – online, in church, and/or with other leaders.
  4. Consider writing a short endorsement or recording a 60 – 90 second video encouraging others to take part.

Whether you’re leading a denomination or part of a small fellowship, there is an urgent call to pray for our nations.

What can participants hope to experience by being involved?
We believe people will encounter renewed intimacy with Jesus, a fresh call to holiness, and boldness to live and witness for Christ in this cultural moment. This is not just about praying for something external, it’s also about the Holy Spirit doing a deep work within us, individually and collectively.

Prayer and fasting is hard work, but it’s the very place where the battle is won. Something powerful has begun in our nations over the last year, but it must be nurtured to fullness through sustained prayer. We are believing for open heavens, transformed hearts, and a reawakened church – one that stands to full strength and in unity. We must be ready to bring in and also to care for the harvest of souls that the Lord wants to bring into His kingdom.

What is your hope for Turn The Battle and its impact long-term?
Though I am very grateful for the growing emphasis in prayer, there is still ground to take. I am trusting that this becomes a marker moment – a shift in the prayer culture of our nation.

We’re believing for:
• A church awakened and united in purpose.
• Strong prayer culture re-established in the church.
• Consecrated lives that carry God’s presence.
• A bold, Spirit-filled witness rising across every sector of society.

Our prayer is that this won’t end after three days but that it ignites a long-term movement of prayer, fasting, and mission. The British Isles has a powerful Christian heritage but we also have a significant spiritual destiny that must be contended for.

This initiative aligns with the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity so it’s both prophetic and strategic in timing. It’s a divine invitation to turn the tide through united prayer. Every voice matters. Every church counts. And every prayer sown will bear eternal fruit. The battle is at the gate – but our God is mighty. Let’s turn the battle together.

"Our prayer is that this won’t end after three days but that it ignites a long-term movement of prayer, fasting, and mission."
